  1. Massachusetts eHealth Institute Awards ‘Right Care 4 You’ Grants to Reduce Healthcare Costs

    WESTBOROUGH – The Massachusetts eHealth Institute at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative recently announced awards for the new Right Care 4 You grant program totaling $189,360 for two digital health companies to support pilot projects with Massachusetts employers to help reduce their healthcare costs. The two competitive grants were awarded to Fitbit to conduct a randomized controlled trial with UMass Memorial Health Care (UMass Memorial) employees, aimed to help prevent and manage cardiometabolic diseases using Fitbit Premium™ and Health Coaching services and to Vincere Health to conduct a pilot of their smartphone-connected smoking cessation solution with Boston Medical Center (BMC) employees.

    BOSTON - Two university programs that are recipients of Massachusetts Manufacturing Innovation Initiative grants, Northeastern University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), were highlighted by their respective institutions.

    While both of these grantees are part of the Commonwealth’s program to invest in innovative advanced manufacturing they could not be more different, reflecting the broad diversity of the state’s advanced manufacturing sector.

    WESTBOROUGH – The Massachusetts Broadband Institute at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MBI) recently completed construction and testing of MassBroadband 123, a 1,200-mile fiber-optic network bringing high-speed Internet access directly to 1,200 key facilities in more than 120 western and central Massachusetts communities. MassBroadband 123 is a critical component of the Commonwealth’s strategy to invest in innovation infrastructure in order to create growth and economic opportunity in every corner of the Commonwealth.

  7. Baker-Polito Administration Celebrates Tech Talent Diversity through Three New Awards

    BOSTON – Housing and Economic Development Secretary Mike Kennealy joined leaders from the tech and innovation sector at Rapid7 in Boston today for the announcement of three new grants from the Commonwealth’s Tech Talent Diversity Initiative, an effort aimed at boosting diversity hiring and training opportunities for diverse candidates. The three grants, totaling $494,947, were awarded to Hack.Diversity in Boston, Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology in Boston, and Tech Foundry in Springfield.

  10. Baker-Polito Administration Awards $681,000 Grant to Burlington’s SiPhox

    Burlington — Today, the Baker-Polito Administration announced a new grant of $681,631 to Burlington’s SiPhox Inc. to support the development of a first-of-its-kind facility that will mass-produce pluggable photonic biochips, boosting output from 100 biochips per month to roughly 5,000 per month to help meet growing demand from biotech verticals such as distributed diagnostics, drug discovery, and vaccine development.
